Beat For Speed Live Audio Mode: Spotify and YouTube Music Setup

Live Audio Mode analyzes audio currently playing on your PC. The reviewed official description does not document a Spotify account link, playlist login, or YouTube Music integration; the practical connection is the computer audio stream.

Start with a clean system-audio test

Launch the game from Steam, open Live Audio Mode, and choose the normal Windows output that you actually hear through headphones or speakers. Start a song in Spotify, YouTube Music, a browser, or another desktop player, then confirm that Windows Volume Mixer shows both the player and the game on the expected device.

Use a track with a clear beat and let it play for a few seconds. Live analysis needs incoming sound; a paused player, muted browser tab, per-app mute, Bluetooth device change, or an output switched after launch can leave the game with silence. Keep the player volume moderate and control listening loudness at the output.

Spotify and YouTube Music are playback sources

The phrase “connect Beat For Speed to Spotify” can be misleading. Based on the official Live Audio description, you do not authorize a Spotify account inside the game. Play the song normally, then let the game listen to the audio path. The same principle applies to YouTube Music in a browser.

Community posts from the demo mention attempts with Spotify, YouTube Music, and VB-CABLE. They are useful clues, not a guarantee for every driver or release build. Start without a virtual cable. Add routing software only if you already understand where Windows sends each app, because an extra virtual device creates another place for the signal to disappear.

If Live Audio hears nothing

Pause the song, return every app to the same physical output, restart the game, and retry with the Windows default device. Check per-app volume and exclusive-mode settings before changing drivers. If the audio meter or generated ride still does not react, reproduce once and collect `player.log`.

In the official support thread, CyanCoast asks for the Windows version, audio software, and logs. The developer also says some antivirus detections were believed to be false positives and explicitly does not recommend disabling antivirus. Verify the Steam installation, keep security enabled, and send evidence through an official channel.

  • Confirm the song is audibly playing.
  • Put the player and game on the same output.
  • Remove virtual routing from the first test.
  • Restart after changing the default device.
  • Attach player.log to an official support report.

Quick answers

No direct account integration was documented. Live Audio listens to music playing through the PC.

Does YouTube Music work?+

It can be tested as a browser playback source through Live Audio, but it is not documented as a formal integration.

Should I disable antivirus?+

No. CyanCoast’s support post says not to disable antivirus; verify the Steam copy and report the detection.
